Safety Officer

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines at our construction sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing the company's employee safety at work. Your primary goal will be to create and maintain a safe workplace environment for all our construction personnel and partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement occupational health and safety policies and procedures specific to construction sites.
• Conduct regular, comprehensive site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and implement preventive measures.
• Direct accident investigation procedures.
• Keep records of safety-related incidents and propose corrective actions.
• Organize and conduct safety training sessions, tool-box talks, and drills for site staff.
• Collaborate with engineers and site managers to monitor compliance and identify safety issues.
• Ensure that all workers wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).

Requirements

• Proven experience (3-5 years) as a Safety Officer or similar role in the construction industry.
• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• In-depth knowledge of safety legislation, procedures, and OHS standards.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics.
• Outstanding organizational and hazard-spotting skills.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly preferred.
